Kaiser's Benchmarking Services
Kaiser offers four different types of Benchmarking services:
- Internal Benchmarking: Compares functional / business process performance across geographies and /or business units within a company. Often the logical starting point for applying Benchmarking as a performance improvement tool. Internal Benchmarking can quickly enhance overall company performance in a function / business process by identifying and applying internal best practices. Kaiser manages the process of collecting internal data and ensuring "apples-to-apples" comparability, analyzing and synthesizing the data to identify and best practices insights, and developing recommendations and implementation roadmaps for applying internal best practices to improve performance.
- External Benchmarking: Customized Benchmarking analyses that focus on the "right" processes, metrics, and companies for the client's unique situation. External Benchmarking can take two forms:
- Competitive Benchmarking* - In-depth comparisons of client performance and supporting practices versus a set of industry participants. Applicability and relevance of findings is typically very high. Relies heavily on Kaiser's sophisticated and proven research methodology to produce detailed data and insights that cannot be acquired through secondary research or industry / functional consortia.
- Best-in-class Benchmarking* - In-depth comparisons of client performance and supporting practices versus a carefully selected set of out-of-industry, "best-in-class" companies. Potential for breakthrough learnings is very high. Best-in-class companies typically come from non-competitive industries where the function / process is a key success factor. Selection of best-in-class companies is based on combination of overall comparability / fit and evidence of functional / process performance excellence.
*Many external Benchmarking analyses include a carefully selected mix of industry participants and out-of-industry "best-in-class" companies.
- Consortia: Kaiser creates select networks of 10-20 non-competing companies to share data and learnings in a common area of interest. Kaiser facilitates data collection and comparability, synthesizes results to identify leading practices and insights, and brings members together in various live forums aimed at sharing and networking. Over the years, Kaiser has led Benchmarking consortia in a wide range of functions / business processes (e.g., Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Branding, Call Center Operations, etc.)
- Training and Education: Kaiser's Benchmarking experts provide a range of Benchmarking Training and Education services. Our experience includes courses at graduate level business schools; seminars, workshops, and executive strategy facilitation sessions for corporate clients; seminars and workshops for industry and functional associations; workshops and featured presentations at events by leading global conference companies.
